Reverse Engineering of a Gerber Multi-Tool

Gerber Gear Curve Multi-Tool

Objective: Reduce an object down to the subsystem and components level to create isometric sketches, CAD models, and conduct a finite element analysis on a component.

This was the final project for my intro to mechanical design course.

Initially, the multi-tool was disassembled to the component level, and the various subsystems were identified. Isometric sketches of the components were then produced and subsequently modeled in SolidWorks.

The team conducted a finite element analysis (FEA) on the slide lock component, applying a stress of 140 N.

Finally, the CAD files were organized into subsystem and system assemblies.
